I just did a real work out for the first time in about three years, and it felt great!

Broke out my old favorite workout tape, Arms and Abs of Steel 2000. Starts with two minute intervals on step alternating with 1 minute arm strength training exercies. I was amazed at how much of the step routine I remembered. I couldn't do all the fancy steps anymore and am too out of shape to get in all the arms, but I did get through all the intervals. It'll only talk a couple of nights to get it all back under control. More of a coordination thing than anything else.

And the abs, which I was dreading, were really not bad at all.

Of course, I'll be feeling it tomorrow, but right now I feel loose and relaxed and happy.

And the cat helped with the abs. :) What a good kitty! *snortle*

If I can manage 3 or 4 times a week, I want to alternate Abs with, ahem, Buns of Steel for a while, then add Dad's yoga tape into the mix and maybe my Tai Chi tapes.

Lets see how long the exercise kick lasts...

But for now, am optimistic.

Yay!!

Excellent! Fitness is good! Says she that has only just taken it back up herself!

It does come back to you. I still have my Cher tapes, the step and the dance ones, and when I hear certain tracks I always get the urge to start doing the routine, and it's been a few years since I did them regularly!

Maybe I'll dig them out again, cos I loved doing them. And I'm feeling so good myself since I started up again, and loosing weight - not gonna let it slip!

Fitness is good

Am happy to report that I have remained not-too-sore, though I did get stiffer as the day went on yesterday, probably because I sit all day.

Cher, huh? Hmmmm. Still haven't got you completely figured out... How do we reconcile Cher with Nickelback? Possibly just that Nickelback and their ilk don't tend to produce exercise videos? :)

Oh, did I mention that they were playing Nickelback at Best Buy the last time I was in there. Is that trendy? How current is Nickelback? (I stopped listening to the radio about 6 years ago, aside from NPR, which I quit listening to about two years ago, so I don't know anything about music culture anymore...)
