The Aunties are Married
Aug. 7th, 2005 09:27 amI was very efficient yesterday morning. I got up, did the household chrores. Did the necessary laundry. Ironed my dress. Bathed Small Boy.
And here's where the trouble started. The noise of the running bath awakened Husband, who woke up with a hideous migraine. A migraine so bad, that I was actually worried he wouldn't make it out of the house at all.
And of course, the first thing he said when he saw my dress, all ironed and laid out was, "You are not wearing that! Don't you have any nice dresses?!"
( Trying to pick a dress )
So anyway, I wore the black dress.
Husband felt much better by the time we got there.
The service was beautiful. Small Boy was perfect. The dresses were gorgeous. The aunties were radiant.
Afterwards, Small Boy stayed to have his pictures done and he got to ride to the hotel in the limo. Apparently this was really cool. I get the impression they had some kind of lazer light show in the limo, but that was not at all clear.
The reception was on the roof of the hotel in an airconditioned tent. Everything was lovely. They used orange and red zinnias in addition to red roses, and the tent was done in white, with the zinnias for accent color. The food was very good, though of course, Small Boy ate nothing but some jelly beans and cheese. *rolls eyes*
Small Boy and I danced. Pictures were taken. Relatives were met. Very many meeting Small Boy in person for the first time. A lovely time was had by all.
Trip home was a little confusing, but we did it at 10:30 at night when there was no traffic to speak of, so it was very easy to fix our early misdirections getting away from the hotel. I did manage to avoid the one major blunder I almost made, where I very nearly took Spout Run Parkway instaed of the George Washington Memorial Parkway. That would have been an annoying oops.
We got home about 11:30. Small Boy, getting out of the car, said, "Can you brush my teeth and put me straight to bed?" He fell asleep on his Daddy's shoulder being carried from the car to the house.
I will post pictures. :)
