The Losers
Dec. 26th, 2012 04:46 amWatched the first 10 minutes of The Losers this morning. Already the best $6 Christmas gift I have ever received! :D Seriously, this is obviously going to be ridiculous, but I'm loving it so far.
ETA: Who was I kidding? Skipped yoga to watch the next 50 minutes of The Losers. Man, they worked really hard to dork up Chris Evans into a guy that women would sneer at. Not buying it, dudes. Poor Idris Elba, so many awful, pointless speeches for his character, yet, he's still awesome! The script gets in some really funny stuff, too, like Jensen scrabbling through cubical land, clutching a briefcase to his chest and begging for "an exit." I have been loving the soundtrack, too, and the choreography of the sex/fight scenes between Aisha and Clay. The bad guy - whoo. He's so over the top weirdly HE'S what kills this for me. Well, not the whole thing, but whenever he's on the screen I feel like WHAT? I wish he could have been a little less - I dunno. On the other hand, could this movie have held up to a realistic villian? Probably not.
However, now I must get ready for work. Will finish tomorrow.

There's plenty of humor in Captain America, but he plays it so straight and dry. It's funny how watching him do a more broadly comic character made him suddenly such an obviously amazing actor. Actors do say comedy is harder than drama...
