OMG I DROVE HOME IN A CROWN VICTORIA IN A FREAKIN BLIZZARD!!!! It was coming down about 2 inches an hour! It sleeted first! It hailed! THERE WAS LIGHTENING AND THUNDER!!! A couple of times my car was SIDEWAYS ACROSS THE LANE!!! THEN I HAD TO PARK, THE WORST PART! Visibility was very, very low. There were about two inches of snow on the roof and trunk of the car when we got home.

My heart was pounding continually for about 1.5 hours. I left work at 2:45 and got home after 5:00.

One good thing. At least the car never threatened to overheat.

I am so crashing from the adrenaline.

*October white-knuckle trip in a driving snowstorm in Northern VT, with "falling rock" and "watch for moose" warnings. lol

It easily took me two hours to get the adrenaline crazies completely out of my system. Then, of course, I was totally crashed. Falling Rock and Watch for Moose, eh? Colorful! :D But then, you've got to expect that, living/travelling in VT. It's part of the locale's appeal, yes?

I'm not a masochist that I find travel like that appealing. LOL

At one point, when daughter said, "What if it's a white-out, a deer steps in front of us, AND a boulder comes crashing off that wall?!" it upped my adrenaline by 13%.

On the way home, there were were also WATCH FOR BEAR signs.

Actually, I *did* leave early. When I left, it was still raining and I thought I was being a bit of a chicken, but I wanted to take some money to the bank for Boss on the way home, and also run down to Fair Lakes for a pizza. It started sleeting on me on the toll road, and it was sleeting down pretty good when I got to The Barbarian's day care. BUT. I still thought, oh, we can still do the pizza run. But we got stuck in a traffic jam, and spent almost 30 minutes trying to get from Reston Town Center down to Fairfax County Parkway. The deterioration of the weather during that time period was so huge I knew we were just going home, but the traffic was *parked* and then it started pouring snow at a rate of 2 inches per hour... I'm actually glad I didn't leave 30 minutes earlier, as I was considering. If I had done that, it woudln't have sleeted on me on the Toll Road, and I might have just gone for the pizza first and picked up The Barbarian after - she hates to drive to Fair Lakes, HATES it. I would probably have made it to Fair Lakes, but then gotten stuck from THE OTHER end AND not have had The Barbarian in the car with me.

Now trying to decide what I will be doing today. The snow event is over. Depends on how things look out there when the sun comes up. AG33 is out of school.

that is scary that it devolved so quickly! I was afraid that perhaps in a windowless world, you missed when it turned from gray and dingy to sheets of sky ice but apparently you were in the thick of it then!

I haz a nice recipe for pizza crust ;)
