Science project ideas

Anybody have any favorite science projects they have done with their 10-12 year old? AG33 needs ideas.

UPDATE: I think we're doing a Mentos thing - but if you have ideas you can zip off in 50 words or less, I still wouldn't mind hearing them!

Build a volcano, or a flame speaker -- both are amazingly cool.
