The Cellmate and I didn't feel it, but the people in the offices on the edge of the building not only felt the building sway, but heard it.

Weird stuff.

Neither The Husband nor The Small Boy noticed it.

We live on a fault line, but quakes are very rare, and very small (before our time, anyway)

Not scary to me. This area's not very geologically active. A big one every 500 years or so. Although there is supposedly a fault off the coast of NC overlain by some sort of silt formation. A very small quake there will probably disturb the formation and cause a massive tidal wave that will flood the eastern seaboard. My bizzare little phobia, when I used to ride the Metro every day, was that the tidal wave would come while we were underground... Ah, irrational phobias...
