Air and Scare
Oct. 24th, 2009 06:19 pmWe went to Air and Scare at the Udvar-Hazy branch of the National Air and Space Museum.
It was awesome! That place is HUGE! The hangar containing the actual space shuttle WAS THE SMALLEST ROOM! There was a Concorde jet in there, and a Blackbird and a bunch of other awesome, awesome stuff.
I slightly confused The Barbarian when we saw this tiny little airplane and I told her I was getting her one for Christmas. She told her brother in the car that we were at an airplane store where we could buy airplanes. :D
If you are in the area, I *highly* recommend this as a tourist destination. A very fun museum.
I was also impressed by the number of the volunteers at the event. The Scouts, the Civil Air Patrol, a bunch of high school girls doing face paints. Neat.
