Husband has already put me in the unhappy position of advocating for the continued watching of Universe. *sigh* I want to watch this show so that maybe I will start to like it, but right now, I dread every new episode. Luckily, AG33 really likes it and strongly fought for it to stay in the rotation.
I think my problem with it thus far is that, while the Battlestar filming style is in some ways a blast of fresh air, it is doing the plot stuff that made me not a big fan of Battlestar. That is, the conflict is internal to the group. I have enough realistic conflict in real life. I just have no interest in watching characters who should be working together instead tear each other apart. I like us against them, not us against us as the source of my fictional conflict. I realize this is probably shallow escapism. Like I said, I will attend RL for realism. TV is my opiate. Thanks. Add to that my continued irritation that these representatives of the SGC are a bunch of incompetent boobs, apparently, and I'm mostly gritting my teeth through the experience.
Like I said. Hoping. Against hope. As I have been hoping since Jack left. Since we got the Ori as our villains. Since Pegasus and the Milky Way became the medieval village galaxies. *sigh*
