Monday and Tuesday
Jul. 21st, 2009 11:06 amYesterday, Rodney Yee, Power Yoga Total Body.
Usually, I skip a day, especially after a week (or ten days!) off. But my mood has been pretty dark, lately, and I am putting everything on hold while I up my exercise to try to boost all those good body chemicals and self-medicate, as it were.
Today, I had a little extra time in the morning, so was hoping to do trance dance for half an hour followed by half an hour of yoga. Technical difficulties with the sound on the computer downstairs made that not possible, but also, as I was exercising, I remembered WHY I usually skip a day after a ten day break... Feeling yesterday all through the torso and arms now.
Anyway, this morning I thought I'd take an adventure and tried the "Meditative Flow." Wow. That was awesome. Incredibly relaxing, and when I was done, I definitely had a feeling of inner stillness and quiet.
There was a Body Blessing, where you bathe in an imaginary stream. Also, there was swimming in an imaginary river. Followed by the slow dancing thing where you try to fill the entire emptiness around you. Then a thing about waves, where you basically lay around on the floor, including some rolling around and twisting - that last part was VERY relaxing and restful and YET ANOTHER reason why NO ONE will ever see me doing this disc. Ever. Then Savasana. Definitely a refreshing way to move on a day when I probably shouldn't have been attempting anything much more strenuous.
