What I miss is lilacs, which were *everywhere* in Michigan, and I never realized what I was missing til I moved there. They must not grow in the South.

Date: 2009-04-08 01:35 pm (UTC)It's funny what people get used to. You're from out there, right? When I was in MI, the lack of mountains really impacted my psyche. When I would drive back home, arriving in southern PA and WV I would *feel* my mood lift as I came into the mountains. Same thing with the green after the winter. But I know people who come here from flat places, or less green places and they find all the hills and green suffocating. Brains are weird.
