Sugar update
Jan. 21st, 2009 10:30 amNot too hideous, those days at home.
The Barbarian tried to sabotage me. She asked for Black and Whites at Costco. It turned out she didn't like them. AG33 doesn't like them. Husband wrinkled his nose.
I like them.
*sigh*
I have had three in the four days they have been in the house. Only one each day I ate one.
I also drank the equivalent of about a can of Mt. Dew before I caved and put a diet 2-liter in the fridge. I don't usually drink diet at home, but the caffiene withdrawl was making me headachy and testy. One cold turkey challenge at a time, please!
The sugar didn't have any physical withdrawl symptoms, obviously. I'm not going no carb, just trying to dump empty sugar calories. It was all psychological - wanting to eat a snack, then telling myself not to eat the snack, then sulking like a 3-year-old who couldn't get a snack. Happy to report that I seem to have already mostly moved past that. No reflexive need for chocolate as soon as I got to work, for instance.
Thinking maybe I could do this for Lent and not die.

Date: 2009-01-21 05:40 pm (UTC)Black and Whites are little cookie-sized cakes, iced half black and half white icing. The black icing is chocolate. The cookies and/or the cakes are lightly lemon. I've seen them in other places. At Costco, they are usually in the bakery section. Anyway, I like them, and now I have a couple of POUNDS of them. *facepalm* On the up side, they are only 60 calories each. If I keep them to one a day and I don't have any other snacks, it's not that big a cheat. I would have brought htem to the office today and fed them to the hyenas, except I was worried about my own restraint.
