Well.
Am now the proud owner of a police car!
Well, not exactly. 1999 red Ford Crown Victoria. Mel's mom used to have one that was powder blue. They used to slow down traffic. Mine's red, but I suppose alert drivers in the know might think I was unmarked...
Anyway, I hadn't thought about the fact that it was a police car. Was expecting it to be an old fogey car. But with 8 cylinders, it really kicks. And contrary to Mom's expectations, it actually has a decent turning radius. It was a dream to drive back from Roanoke, though the seats are not the greatest for long distance driving - much less comfortable than the van's.
Am concerned that the gas mileage is going to be outrageous. As it only has 62k miles on it, we might consider attempting to sell it and use the money for a down payment on a new car. I plan to try it out for a couple of weeks before I decide. Need to be sure to get it insured today.
