Date: 2008-12-08 04:06 pm (UTC)Well, so far, I have not lost one single pound, according to the iffy scale I have at the office. This is not totally shocking, as weightlifting forms muscles, so your body can start rearranging itself into more dense muscle and less fat and you can still see results without losing much if any weight. That actually happened to me the last time I did this, too. I kept looking slimmer and slimmer while not seeing anything happen much on the scale.
That said, I was feeling v. discouraged, since I really, really want to get rid of the baby gut, and I wasn't seeing any change there. But then, last week, I thought maybe my jeans were fitting a little better, so I got out the measuring tape, and I actually AM down 2.5 inches in the waist and 2.75 inches in the hip! So that's awesome, but not THAT awesome, becuase I've got a ways to go yet.
The first two months of this, I wasn't too "serious" about it. Indulged in Halloween candy for a week. Made myself a huge batch of Stickies (basically pie crust soaked in butter and sugar) and ate them all in a weekend. Took of three whole weeks of exercising. This month I have vowed to be under 1800 calories EVERY DAY and to try to work out at least five days a week. So far, so good. I ought to see 7-10 pounds weight loss by Christmas, if I can pull it off.
*is determined*
I want my clothes back, dammit. :D
