So! It's been a great week on the exercise front.
Even though I have been getting very poor sleep, I've been energized and ready to go in the mornings and working out has been enjoyable, not a slog. Well. Tuesday was a slog, but the rest of the week has been good!
I want to do the weights every other day. When I do weights, I want to do Arms and Abs of Steel because the arm stuff in there uses all the muscles I'm weight training on, and I do it was light weights, so it is a nice warmup and means I don't have to figure out how to do warm up lifting in my weight training.
On the rest days for weights, I am liking doing the step routine that is *just* step. And I actually have a second routine on that disc that I should try. Both the Crunch routines are only 30, meaning I could just stop and have a little free time in the morning OR...
I can try to sneak in some yoga.
I realized last night that I have 12 different short yoga routines, 20 minutes or less. Combining the step aerobics with a 15 minute yoga thing this morning was really nice. I figure, on the weights days I can do the same stuff over and over, but save myself from boredom on the off days by alternating the Crunch step routines and rotating through the 12 short yoga things. Not to mention my bellydance discs that I can use as warmups for yoga, too!
Of course, I want to build up to doing the long power yoga discs again. Tomorrow morning, if I get up early enough, I plan to do a Crunch step thing then tackle the Yee workout. I probably won't be able to get through it, but I can do as much as is enjoyable.
Alas, due to the kids' schedules, I won't be getting back to the old double workouts on the week days, though I am thinking of trying to make that a goal for Saturday mornings in the future. I used to love that so much.
Thinking about this, I can't say enough about the inspiration I got from those before pictures! :D

Date: 2008-10-17 04:08 pm (UTC)Yes, need to get bellydancing back on the agenda. But it is the least exercise-y of my exercise. It's fun, but even in my current physical state I don't really get my heart rate up or whatever. I want to seriously burn some calories before I start doing things that are more fun.
