I've seen this around. Most recently via _minxy_.

Everyone has things they blog about. Everyone has things they don't blog about. Challenge me out of my comfort zone by telling me something I don't blog about, but you'd like to hear about, and I'll write a post about it. Ask for anything: latest movie watched, last book read, political leanings, thoughts on something, favorite type of underwear, explain an interest, a fandom obsession, pre-fandom obsessions, whatever.

Off limits - The Husband and directly related topics. Anything that would get Boss disbarred.

Where do you stand on religion? Deep seated ideals? How about alternate ideas? ghosts? reincarnation? karma?

Well, you asked. :) Though I suppose that's the whole point of this meme. I should add that talking about religion makes me all kinds of emotional, as you will probably understand after you read the post. I'm actually really bad at church or any other situation where I have to talk in any serious way about my thoughts and feelings about God and religion, because I often break down in tears for reasons that are really not apparent to anyone, but which I think are a psychological reaction to how much cognitive dissonance I really have going on with the whole religion thing. < /shrink >

I don't have a short, pithy response to your post, so I'll just say thanks for being candid.
...yeah, I find I do want to talk about it but I can't seem to get there.
None of this is an easy or new thought process for me, so when I say I appreciate your candor, I really know how hard it can be.
