muck_a_luckHusband says, you look tired. And sad. I would like to make you happy by taking you out so you don't have to be annoyed by children and cooking. (This is a paraphrase.)
So we go out to our favoite child friendly place, a ho-hum Chinese buffet.
I got The Barbarian a plate and she hoovered it up like a little champ. SHe also played in a glass of water and stole food from everyone else.
Husband comes back from the buffet with a plate of rice and satay and says, they don't have anything I like anymore, they changed everything. And proceeds to eat almost nothing else. I think he had some string beans.
AG33 eats his usual sweet and sour chicken and Chinese tortilla/pancake things, then he gets this horrible look on his face about half way through and we realize he's about to vomit and sure enough, I manage to at least get him out of the dining room and to the hard floor of the hallway outside the men's room before he throws it all up on the floor.
And proceeds to say he's really hungry can he go back and eat some more.
As we are leaving, The Barbarian fell and scraped her knee on the pavement. She's a tough little cookie and barely cried.
Then we went to get ice cream, where they didn't have the ice cream Husband wanted. He picked something else though and liked it pretty well. Meanwhile, Barbarian gets more and more crazed, and eventually manages to fall through the back of the chair she is sitting on.
Yes. It was all very relaxing and saved me a lot of annoyance and irritation.
Still, Husband gets bonus points for being fairly civil about his lack of dinner and for wanting to take us all out in the first place, even if it did turn into the Chinese buffet dinner of doom.
