When I get a new e-mail, Jack O'Neill, via .wav file, says, "Oh, fercryinoutloud. I'll handle this."

The other day, the volume was up a little on my speakers.

And Jack said his piece at *just* the wrong moment in a phone conversation.

Oops.

I can't for email because I leave it all on the server (since something emailed killed by old computer), but I could use it for other stuff? I don't have any noises on my computer and now I suddenly have to find a way to create them!

Where art those noises? :)

If you're using windows, you go to the control panel and open sounds. There should be a tab for event sounds, and you can assign sounds to events. Short .wav files are the obvious thing to use. I have instructions somewhere in my journal, because years ago I did this for the first time using Mr. Sharpe.

Mac. The stupid help menu doesn't even mention how to install them. I'll just have to add this mission to my to-do list. I'm behind enough on my reading as it is!

Thanks, though; and do recall where you found the SG-1 files?

Don't know if this is where she got hers because I can't find one there that says "fcol, I'll handle this" (plenty of fcols, though), but there's a lot of SG1 computer event sounds here:

http://www.stargatefan.com/multimedia/sounds/index.html

There's a bit of info about them at the very bottom of the page. Don't know if that's enough info to install them, I haven't tried it yet, either.

Ooh, thank you! I'll bookmark it for when I'm back in 'fiddle with computer' mode. Much appreciated!
