Feeling whiney

Well. We were househunting. We were all preapproved for a loan and we were hoping to make a bid on a house today. Then I learned some unpleasant news and now, despite our preapproved status, it seems that we won't be able to swing an actual purchase after all.

Meanwhile, I did my filing today. Completely cleared it out. And as usual, the result is that I turned up about 40 pieces of paper/actual files that need attention, so my work area looks worse now than when I started.

*sigh*

This has been a stupid, stupid day.

*shakes fist at everyone*

I'm much more disappointed about the house shopping thing than I should be. The likelihood that we could actually *make* an offer that anyone would accept on a property that we would actually *want* was really, really slim. Still. Now that I know we can't even try, I'm feeling very sad. :(

I'm not sure whether it's comforting or not but with the slump, you might get something nicer this time next year for the same money. That's how it's predicted to work over here - not a massive crash though, but a definite sink.
