Please don't hit me!!!

Last night, a guy almost rear-ended me. You know, they tell you in driver's ed to check your mirrors before you stop, to see what the person behind you is doing, and I can say honestly that I'm pretty sure this is the only time I have ever thought the person behind me might NOT be stopping. I was slowing down for a red light. Red. Not yellow. He had just come out of a parking lot into traffic and was not even looking where he was going and HE WAS ACCELLERATING!!!!! I was in the process of trying to decide whether to run the light or get rammed from behind when he finally looked up and made eye-contact with me in the rearview. And the bastard still didn't really start slowing down. Like maybe he thought if I wasn't slowing down, we could run the light together. I held up both hands, saying "Stop! Stop! Please don't hit me!" He finally stopped. It was freakin' scary!

Meanwhile, based on the answering machine messages this morning, it's going to be a no good, very bad day.

On top of that, Little Sister woke up crying this morning. She always wakes up cheerful and happy, so I know she needed more sleep and probably was not feeling so good. She looked terrible and she was completely full of snot. I would not be surprised to have to leave early today.
