Little Sister changes every day.

She is now sitting up pretty well the way little babies sit, propping herself with her arms and nearby objects, but easily tipping over or slumping backwards. When she is sitting, and any other time, really, she now wants to touch EVERYTHING. She is finally really noticing her stuffed toys. She studies her rattles and chew toys so carefully, passing them from hand to hand, thoughfully stuffing them in her mouth, taking them out again. The pacifier, which she refuses to use for its normal purpose, is absolutely the most fascinating object.

Oh. And she has noticed the cat. She started being interested in her a couple of weeks ago, now, and she gets very cranky when she can't get to her. The cat, when pushed into baby reach, gives you that cat look that says, "What the HELL are you thinking?!" and oozes away in the determined cat way. I should say the cat gets off easy, though, because the baby is always so snotty and drooly and combining slimy hands with cat fur would only result in unpleasantness all around! :)

Little Sister can't get enough of AG33 either. For some reason, when we all go up the stairs together, she laughs like it is the most hilarious thing that ever happened. I can't figure out why. Maybe because AG33 is suddenly much taller or shorter, depending upon whether he is ahead or behind? Can't figure it.

Little Sister has taken a great interest in the computer keyboard. Mostly she presses the spacebar and thumps the heels of her hands on the ALT and CTRL and Windows Keys, which makes me worried that she's going to crash everything! But she also tries to grip and pick up the keys, which actually makes it look very much like she is trying to type.

She can really take weight on her legs now. Sometimes, you feel like the only reason you are holding her is to help her balance. Otherwise, you aren't really holding her up at all. She will almost immediately start marching her legs. It is a family favorite activity to help her "walk." And if you stand her on the floor she will do a little baby jig. :) AG33 had her laughing insanely tonight by copying her dance.

I swear she waved to her Daddy this weekend. She was nursing when he came down the stairs Sunday morning. First, she heard him. Immediately, she started looking around trying to see him, but he was sitting behind one of the DVD towers out of sight and was just a disembodied voice. When he finally poked his head around the corner, her face *lit* up and she started flapping her arm! She was waving! I'm sure of it! :)

Anyway, it's clear that truly sitting on her own and also crawling are not far in the future.

She's also getting very tall. And there's nothing like a baby relaxed and sleeping. We really do not fit well in the bed together anymore. But with the blocked duct Friday night and her sicky cold on Saturday night, we didn't try to force the sleeping in the crib issue this weekend. (Weeknights are out for these early bedtime battles because Husband goes to bed at 7:30.) Well, my deadline is really 6 months for this, and that's still one month away.

I'm sure there are other things I am leaving out, but that's enough boring baby blather for one night.

I so hope new Baby Brother (coming out in just 10 hours!) will get along just as well with Big Brother. But nephew is 2, and not as able to be reasoned with as AG33. Big potential for jealousy. But as of tonight he plans to sing Happy Birthday to him in the hospital tomorrow.

It's so adorable following LS's (and AG's) development in your journal. It gives me a long-distance Auntie hit. :-)
