Not good at all

muck_a_luckI think I'm about to have another problem with the right breast. Very low milk production this morning, though no obvious blockage yet. Going to try using the pump every 2 hours today to simulate frequent nursing, which is one of the things you are supposed to do for a plugged duct.
Other things that I'm supposed to do. Get plenty of rest. I stayed up Monday making pie and last night writing. I really want to stay up again tonight and finish the thing I'm working on, but maybe sleep is the better part of valor at this point.
It probably didn't help that Little Sister essentially slept though the night last night. If she's going to start doing that, I may need to consider getting up and using the pump some at night, at least until I recover from whatever is going on.
This morning, I thought maybe it was time to call the doctor.
Called the OB/GYN and got a shrug off. Done very nicely in a very concerned voice, but a shrug off, nonetheless. If it's not mastitis, they aren't interested. They offered me the number of a lactation consultant.
In a way, that pleases me. Not every problem needs to be a medical problem.
In another way, that displeases me. Lacation consultant is not part of my medical plan. At least I doubt it. Hmmmm. Could check the health insurance website.
I stumbled upon information about using sonogram to deal with blocked ducts. The big plus of using sonogram being that sonogram usuage not only unblocks the current problem, but seems to be useful in preventing recurring problems.
We'll see. If I have another event like Friday, I will probably have to do something. Either get with the lactation consultant for advice or send the info from the web to my doc and see what she thinks.
