Cranking

I am cranky today. Very, very cranky.

I did something I never do. I saw a traffic jam and I flinched. Usually, I just say, oh, well, that's life. But this morning, I saw the thing while I could still bail and I did. And I swear, I feel like I was lucky to be here by 10am.

And OF COURSE Boss is in the office today. Bad form, to be 45 minutes late when the Boss almost never sees you arrive.

Had a very unsatisfactory breakfast.

Poor little baby is sick.

Husband was watching stupid, stupid Grey's Anatomy this morning making it impossible for me to concentrate on writing anything and looking all sick and lonely so I felt guilty about reading anything.

My back hurts.

My eyes itch.

Small Boy appears to be getting sick.

Did I mention being cranky?

But I always try to avoid traffic jams. I don't care whether side streets will take me longer than sitting through it, just uh uh.

When I know the side streets will take longer, I just stick with my usual route. Because for me, it's all about travel time. Plus, the side streets are usually harder on my bloodpressure. They have more lights, people drive more rudely, and the ones connecting me to my place of employment are exeedingly narrow and congested.

That's why I never bail. I don't know what got into me this morning.
