I watched The Serpent's Lair today and I was thinking. SG-1 and Bra'tac must have gotten off the shuttle in Texas and flown back to Colorado. Then they came up to the mountain, and checked in and got changed and showed Bra'tac around and finally brought him to the Gateroom, apparently to head out, but no, he was actually escorted off to be debriefed. So dude. In all tha time, nobody thought to mention to them, hey, Daniel's fine? That's just mean.

I think the shuttles land in California (Vandenberg AFB, maybe?). Still over an hour away even by Air Force transport. But the way they did that whole reveal in the gateroom, it seems like they wanted to make a surprise out of it. I don't know whether that was Hammond's idea or Daniel's or whose, but yeah, it is a little cruel. "Hey, celebrate! You saved the world, even though your best friend got blasted and then blown up!" There's a fic moment to be had in there.

But nobody can resist the Spacemonkey moment!!! *fangirl squee of death*

Yes. And you just couldn't do that over the phone...

Though a private moment in the locker room certainly has potential for an episode "fix."
