Being completely irrational (and acknowledging it) Husband stopped me from putting Little Sister down in her own crib last night and asked that she sleep with us instead. He says he knows it's irrational, but he feels safer when she's in our bed than when she's by herself. Plus, he says he goes a little crazy listening to the monitor. Which doesn't actually surprise me in the least.

We have a king, so there's plenty of space for all of us. She can have almost as much space between us as she has in her own crib. And she definitely prefers our bed. If I put her in her crib, she almost immediately wakes up and protests. If I put her on our bed, she cracks and eye, resettles, and conks out.

And man, once you make this decision, you sleep better, too. I think I had a full night's sleep last night.

Ah, sleep! :)

I know that co-sleeping is a huge debate among pediatricians and others, but I read an article once that says it prevents SIDS because the babies learn how to sleep-breathe.

I did it with every one of my kids for at least the first three months. It made everybody involved much happier, because we all got sleep.

Both my nephews slept with their parents for like the first year. The younger sister thought the other was nuts for doing it, but once baby came along and he did not want to sleep in the nursery, well, she started reading up on Dr. Sears in a hurry.

Sleep is a good thing!

I did it with my two younger children (with the first, I was all By the Book.) Sleep is a wonderful, wonderful thing.
