I hope [livejournal.com profile] alpha_strike will forgive me for repeating myself.

But since when is 06/06/2006 the same as 666? It's a number with a lot of sixes in it. But 2006 is clearly not 666. Nor is 06/06/06=666. And ever since the whole Y2K think with 9/9/99 everybody knows you don't write the number as 6/6/06, and even if you did 6/6/06 is not 666.

So no matter how you slice it, assuming 666 means anything, today is not 666. The fact that people are sitting around picking their noses and thinking about this seriously just goes to show how much stupidity there is in the world.

And as I am preaching to the choir, I will stop now.

Well I'd write 6/6/06. I mean, not with work stuff. But elsewhere. :) But even so, yeah. It's all ridiculous. And the thing is, there have been a LOT of dates that could be written 6/6/06, and the world hasn't ended on any of them, nor to my knowledge has there been any earth-shaking events, disasters, anti-christ births, or anything really, on that date in particular.

People, they are dumb. But so entertaining in their dumbness. :)

Ohohoh! I hadn't thought of that. Other 6/6/06's! Good one!

Dumb as dirt. Not as clean. :D

I would comment something witty and brilliant, but I am snickering far too much. I agree, however. Not that that should overly surprise you.

Just remember: People, in general, are woefully stupid. They can be quite entertaining, yes, but en masse, not so bright. And the more they suffer from TehStupid, the more vocal they are about it. Like those who blast out wrong song lyrics loudly, as if by going louder, it will actually make them the right lyrics. Same deal. ;)

Truer words were never spoken.

I just posted a similar reply in [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]'s journal. And I am as always your loyal choir, though the one singing off key. LA!!!!

Also, you are probably mouthing the word "watermelon" because you forgot the words but you don't want anybody to notice... :p

It does mean something, it does! 06-06-06= -06 or 06/06/06 = .166666 or 06JUN06, which is how I write dates, means it's June 6, in the sixth year of some century. (Presumably the one I live in.)

I wonder whether it's so much easier to be stupid than smart that people want to be dimwits.

You're forgiven.
