I cannot tell you how pleased I am that *no one* tried to be more logical than me and point out any evolutionary or social or whatever else advantages to women being willing to reproduce.

I got a number of never doing that again type responses, followed by a couple of, yay, Pointy Stick Self-Defense Society type answers.

I am very pleased with you all.

In other news, I will attempt to give up swearing for Lent this year.

*laughs at own folly*

I gave up chocolate one year -- I swear everything smelled like chocolate: men's aftersahve in the elevator at work, the wind off the ocean, everything! My dh was ready to shove chocolate down my throat to shut me up LOL! good luck with the no swearing! Cheers, rb

PS don't read my icon out loud -- you'll blow it LOL!

I used to give up caffiene, in all sources, including chocolate. (Though it takes about 50 chocolate bars to equal the caffiene in one cup of coffee, so that was kinda pointless.) One Fat Tuesday, I was really, really craving a chocolate croissant. I went to my favorite place, ordered a chocolate croissant and a Raspberry Soho Soda. I sauntered out to my favorite place to picnic, and bit into my croissant. And it was RASPBERRY. Raspberry Croissant with Raspberry Soda. I was very disappointed. But I shrugged it off and ate it anyway and for the rest of Lent, I *craved* a chocolate croissant like I have never craved a food item before. :)

I gave up caffeine and aspartame almost 18 months ago. I do have the odd bit of caffeine but aspartame is a done deal -- the hardest part, there is NO adult gum without aspartame or sorbitol or any of those sweetners *grrr* I love gum. I've taken to having a jar of gumballs on my desk LOL! good luck with the swearing thing :-)

cheers, rb

It was nice of you to not publicly single me out. I thought I showed remarkable restraint too, and, having given up tormenting CK for a day, I won't have to give anything else up for Lent. ;)

I believe this is a testament to your intelligence and good judgment. You said, "That there's a crazy pregnant lady!" and realized that there was really no point in attempting further communication. :)

Hey, considering the technology we have, the evolutionary and social or whatever advantages to women being willing to reproduce are rapidly approaching zilch.

I once heard an English teacher of mine talking about a book in which they incubated their children artifically, rather Matrixy like, and how the technology these days wasn't so far behind that. He was like: "Ah, we men will soon be an endangered species."

*muahahaha*

I don't have an evil inner feminazi buried within me.

*halo*

There's more than one reason I'll never be pregnant. :-)
I have met exactly one woman who was filled with the joy of motherhood during her entire pregnancy.
Up til then, I thought all woman got to feeling like they were gestating an elephant. ;-)

There's no reason to be logical about passing something the size of a watermelon through something...that's not that big.

I hold women who are willing to do so in awe.

Until I can reproduce asexually, I'll stay Auntie Amise.
