Random on a miserable icky day
Oct. 8th, 2005 06:04 pmHaving a very icky day. And more and more worried about
uisgich as the days go on.
We are just finishing up two solid days of rain. Pooring rain. I went to the grocery store in the pouring rain today, always the biggest bummer of rainy weather for me, because not only do I have to load the groceries in the rain, but our apartment building and it's parking lot are really far apart, which is very civilized and pleasant in good weather, but a pain in the ass any time I am bringing in the groceries, but is PARTICULARLY irksome in the pouring rain.
Small Boy spent part of his morning at the exams. Though he did not qualify, the masters encourage all students to attend the entire session as a learning experience, and Small Boy was interested.
After dropping the Small Boy off, I realized as I was walking back out to the car (during a lull in the rain when it was merely a misty drizzle for a few minutes) that I had left my umbrella in the lobby. But there were a dozen or so wet umbrellas there and I thought, nah, nobody will bother my umbrella.
Somebody stole my umbrella. Bastard.
This morning Small Boy and I watched What Lies Beneath, because I have managed to miss that one every time.
Interesting how the Sam/Jack shipping played out in this one. It totally wasn't working for me, when it was blatant. But there was the moment when they both remembered the relevance of Sam calling Jack sir that had a little bite to it. Sam and Jack work for me only when they are their most starcrossed. Thinking about this, I am actually really impressed by how the chemistry of that cast let them do so much unspoken relationship stuff. When Sam and Jack stop talking is when they work for me. When Jack and Daniel stammer and stumble you see the richness and depth of their relationship. And let's not even mention Mr. Signifcantly-Raised-Eyebrow. OMG. When Jack has gone all ancient and Teal'c realizes that Jack doesnt' understand him anymore, and Jack just touches his face and looks into his eyes... That's enough to make you ship Jack/Teal'c.

Date: 2005-10-09 06:23 am (UTC)The J/S attempt in that ep annoys me because it screams "trusting friends" at me. Like they always do. I thought it was way hotter that J/D, who have been mind-stamped to distrust/not know each other, rushed in unison to sledgehammer the pressure relief valve open with perfect teamwork. But I agree that the whole cast does more with unspoken moments to show the depth of their connections than the dialogue.

And you KNOW her parents are driving her crazy, so at least she's safe, they'll see to that! So hushie, sweetums, and relax. I know you miss her horribly. I do too. *cuddles*
