To balance my previous post
Oct. 1st, 2005 05:13 pmThe tae kwon do place is always very busy in the evenings when I am arriving to pick up Small Boy.
Earlier last week I saw a little yellow belt. He looked about five. Six, tops. He was getting extra help from one of the Masters - a six foot two, whip thin 20 something Korean guy. It was adorable. They were both very serious. The little guy was doing everything with the wrong leg, so there was much hopping about adjusting. Then they practiced front kicking for a while.
That is one of the things that really attracted me about this place. How happy the kids and adults all seem to be. And the adults, from the Grand Master on down all seem to really adore the little kids.
Small Boy has yet to qualify for his white belt exam. I hope he will. I think he would be very disappointed not to qualify. He already has aspirations to make the demo team. Interestingly, should he move up the belts as fast as is reasonably possible, we could have a 10-year-old black belt in three years time. But that remains to be seen.
