Not classy enough for this
Jul. 1st, 2005 07:59 amIt's too cold in the office. I usually bring a jacket or a fleece to wear over short sleeves.
Well, today, I decided to go with a beautiful green and gold pashmina shawl that one of the lawyers brought back from Italy. He went around the office distributing them, and who could pass up an offer like that?
I'm not sure, though, that I've got the class and/or fashion sense to wear a garment that needs this much attention all day.
Though Louise just happened by and when I complained, she offered several hints for the wearing of shawls that sound awesome, including clips at the wrist and use of brooches. The brooch thing, in particular, is a no brainer, but... *points up to comment re: lack of fashion sense*
But for the moment, completely wrapped up in my little wool cocoon and enjoying the smell of the lanolin. If I don't warm up soon, I'm gonna pull it up over my head like a little hood.
If it were this cold in the office in the winter, people would complain.
UPDATE: Shawl on head. Gonna call maintenance soon about the unseasonable cold...
UPDATE 2: Fingers blue. Please send Alpine search and rescue...
UPDATE 3: Well, supposedly it is 77 degrees in here. Also, the guy says they supercool the building early in the day, because it will be in the 90s later and the building will heat up. He adjusted me up about three degrees, and he also says I may be getting the draft from around the corner, where it is 75. Hopefully, it will warm up as the day goes on. One can only hope...
UPDATE 4: Cocoa. Have resorted to hot beverages.
UPDATE 5: Wow. That worked like a charm. Now regreat that CJ didn't *actually* send some brandy...
