Didn't get to do this entry yesterday.
Strider made a leap for my soda yesterday afternoon, though he missed and just fell onto the desk. He made this near-fatal attempt while The Boss was talking to me. The Boss said, "I must've said something he didn't like!" I put him back in a safer spot. Boromir is gaurding the phone. I should send him over to whack off some fingers at Vonage...
I almost fell off my chair when I opened the mail and found a final decree on a name change that we have been working on for maybe a year. The woman is the wife of a foreign service officer posted overseas, but claiming residence in Virginia. The Court tried to pretend it didn't have jurisdiction to carry out the name change. We've been back and forth with chambers over this for months and months. Suddenly, the decree just appeared in the mail. I thought the envelope was going to be file-stamped copies in another matter. The general reaction in the office was shocked disbelief. Now if we could only shake loose the annulment/divorce that's been stuck for ages...
In administrative matters, did a large amount of bookkeeping and timekeeping work yesterday. I was hoping to have invoices to stuff this weekend, but today's technical difficulties prevented that. But did the retainer to operating tranfer, and paid some really big bills, including the remaining taxes. So a productive day, though not as productive as I had hoped.

Date: 2004-02-18 02:54 pm (UTC)But I'm sure that SM has had a go at blowing Boromir's horn *snortle*, as his arms were not in their usual place when I got back to my desk yesterday!
I almost fell off my chair

Oh, and Arwen is about to rip off Russell's clothes - slowly though, cos I'm also actually working today, and trying to take decent photos of the kitties outside as it is a nice sunny day!!
