Husband is now out for the holiday.
He stayed up last night watching the second season of 24. So I stayed up, too. Did two hours of Boss work and am caught up, sort of. I owe two hours from earlier this month, and an additional half hour for today. Tomorrow, Small Boy to day care, so I can get to work at 8am, and not need to work at home. Friday, just answering phones in the morning. Will forward them to the house. Next week, day care all week, so again, no home work. Sometime before the end of the year, I need to sneak in 2.5 hours, or take it as vacation in the next check. Then I will be ready to start the new year with a clean slate and keep Resolution #5.
Did double workout today for the second time this week. Because of early start tomorrow, will probably just do Mr. Yee in the morning. Then double workout again on Friday before I start answering phones. This morning was MTV again. I really like this routine, and I did not fall down nearly as much as the first time. Go me!
There was no voice mail on the machine this morning. So happy.
Cleared out a couple of slightly moldering files last night. Had my calcium yesterday. And have had a modest 500 calories thus far today, putting me on track for 1800 no prob, unless we really splurge at dinner.
See! I told you I was starting yesterday!
Also, beta'd a couple of things for
rosemending this morning. She is such a good writer. It was clever and fun and very well done bestiality. I'm scared of her Secret Santa person, though. I cannot imagine the request...
SPOILERS FOR the SECOND SEASON OF 24
A head in a bag covers up a lot of sins of the script.
The daughter is too stupid to believe. I'll be rooting for the cougar. Actually, we were already rooting for the cougar last season, hoping it might eat the wife.
Cool! When was the last time you saw plutonium poisoning on TV?
WHY, Hollywood, WHY did you put 5 skinny white 20-something bleached blondes in this show. They all look freakin' the same and Husband and I are having trouble keeping sub=plots apart.
Husband asked, "Why do the women all want to hit on Almeida?" I said, "Because he's cute!" [And OMG! If there was ever any doubt in anybody's mind that I'm from NC, that was such a scary little moment. *I* heard the accent!!!] Husband pretended [I hope] to be mortally offended.
Hmmm. What else?
I said, "It would be handy to have that kind of facility with a hand gun." Husband looked at me sideways, and said, "Why?" And I said, "Well, if you ever had to chase somebody down and shoot them!" At least KS's character has some believablity to have that kind of marksmanship. "Member of Special Forces" also covers up a lot of sins of the script.
Still, the female characters remain almost universally weak, and the acting is as iffy as the previous season. And living in the DC area, I hate to be reminded about loose nukes and dirty bombs. Cause you know, folks, it *is* gonna happen one day. Maybe not in DC. Maybe not on US soil (though I personally think that's quite likely). But in our lifetimes, I am quite sure some terrorist organization is gonna pull off a nuclear strike on a major, probably American or European, city. And it's gonna be horrific. I say this as a former defense intellectual.
But maybe I'll be proven wrong. I certainly hope so. But maybe I'll be in the middle of it.
*shrugs*
Still more likely I'll be killed in my car by a drunk driver.
And now, off to work! :p
