look_sharpe, you should go and scope out the lovliness here, where a fab person has capped Sword.
CJ, if you want to see why we all watch Sharpe, despite the gruesome scripts, this is the post to check out.
Sharpe is TV movie trash, mostly, incredible acting aside (and the acting is really, really good, in spite of everything. Not just Beanie. The entire cast and guest stars, etc, are all very good.)
That said, personally, I like Sword. Spoilers follow.
It is basically a girly, lets get Sharpe all wounded and naked so we can blot his feverish brow and stroke his hair and hold his hand type plot. Yes, Harper does it, too... Sickbed drama, I think Husband called it, or something like that. Oh, and also, there is waif-like not too annoying forlorn girl-child who crawls into bed with him (quite literally), every chance she gets. A perfectly acceptable Mary Sue, she doesn't even talk to spoil the effect.
Excellent and dashing guest star. Not horribly lame plot with some intrigue and Simmerson bashing. Sharpe is hot and mostly naked for a lot of it.
Very good, for Sharpe.
Some days, I want to buy the whole set. Other days I think, I would be so mad if I bought the whole set. My short list for Sharpe purchases - Rifles, Eagle, Company, Enemy, Honor, and Sword. Plenty of Beanie to keep me happy, and the best of the scripts. For all that's worth...
