Why do people go shopping? Part 2

Traumatic shopping trip. Suddenly want to run away and live in the desert where there are no people for 100 miles...

For my trouble - 2 pairs of exercise shorts. One Exercise bra. 2 ten-lound dumbbells. New car seat for Small Boy. Groceries.

Hope to go out to my favorite used media store today and shop exercise tapes. If I can find good ones, they'll be dirt cheap. Where I got all my tapes the last round.

UPDATE: Did get out to McKay Used Books. And have had the realization that ALL shopping stresses me out. Traffic getting there couldn't have been better. No crowds. No waiting. But I came out of the store with a clenched jaw, crabbier than a pirate. Apparently have lost the ability to browse peacefully. Oh, well. Not SUCH a bad thing, I suppose.

My traumatic "retail therapy" trip: bought a very nice outfit on sale for half price, then was feeling self-righteous about thriftiness, so I went into the shoe department. Having a shoe fetish just sucks. Bought a pair of motorcycle boots that I really can't afford, but I just love them. (Jeez, sound like Carrie Bradshaw, much?)

Laughing at your shoe fetish! I could not be more thankful that shoes mean absolutely nothing to me. Well, not true. Need shoes to protect feet. Shoes must match for interviews. But I get by with a pair of black suede sneakers (essentially), a pair of Birks, and a pair of good hiking boots. And I think somewhere in the back of the closet is my pair of interview heels - low, navy, match interview suit. Though with the new exercise craze, I would like real sneakers for my step aerobics. Believe it or not, hiking boots working great, but they look weird with exercise clothes! *snortle* Also, might buy a good pair of brown shoes, if they came over to my house and bit me on the b***. But otherwise, really not worth the trouble. You may be amused to know that The Cellmate has 300 pairs of shoes and counting! *shakes head* What do you people *do* with them all?
