A very Lush Christmas
Jan. 14th, 2008 07:51 pmI love the (chocolate) Whip Stick (which was not part of the gift box), which is fantastic! But I also really like the Honey Trap Lip Balm that was part of the set. It was a little weird. It had pockets of honey that seemed to have come out of solution with the more solid components of the lip balm, so I had to kind of blot the fluid off before I could use it. But it smells fantastic once you get rid of the weirdness.
The Snowcake Soap, described as smelling like "the almond icing off your Christmas cake" was the first thing I tried. It smelled kind of weird in the shower. Yes, almondy, but also kind of dusty. It reminded me of my GreatGreat Aunt's house in SC. It was a really old farm house with only window box airconditioning. She was a fantastic cook, and fed her farmhands, as well as doing a lot of stuff for church functions, so the times I visited (only 2 or 3) when I was a little kid, there were plates of baked goods laid out in every room of the place - spare bedrooms, living room, everywhere. Her house smelled really weird. And that's what this soap smelled like in the shower. It didn't leave any real lingering fragrance on the skin. BUT, that said... We have a master suite, where the bathroom is behind the same door as the master bedroom. We keep the door closed to keep the cat out, and when I was using this soap, our bedroom smelled *perfect.* Sweet and almondy, but not overwhelmingly so. I loved that while that bar of soap lasted.
Then, I brought out the Flying Fox shower gel. It is "Sex-Appeal Honey Shower. Lascivious, licentious, vivacious and insatiable. With the finest aphrodisiac essential oils... (Plus the three best for controlling PMS)." Now, Husband claimed it was not having aphrodisiac effects on him, but he did really like the perfume. This one was way too strong for me in the shower, though it was strangely refreshing, too. Again, it made the bedroom smell incredible.
Honey, I Washed The Kids Soap has been the big winner for me in the soaps category. I love, love, love the fragrance. Alas, they don't have a companion product in the hair conditioners, lotions, or solid perfumes. This is the item I might have to go out and buy again. Very sweet, but delicate, with a very mild musky undertone.
The item that may be it's twin is the Honey Bee Bath Bomb. I am not a person to take baths, so I have been unsure about what to do with the bath ballistics that came in the set. I just flat don't have time for a bath. The day I tried to make time for a bath, stuff happened. That was a day I had off from work, but the baby was a day care. You can imagine how rarely that happens. And I STILL did not find a time for a bath. However, until this morning, all the unused items had resided in their gift box. And that box smelled *amazing,* and very much like the Honey Soap. So, I have taken the bath ballistics out, including the Honey Bee the Butterball, and the Ma Bar Bubble Bar Slice, and placed them in my lingere cabinet. This may be the way to enjoy their amazing fragrances the longest.
I still have to try the hair conditioner, which is vanilla, and the Soft Coeur honey and cocoabutter massage bar. But all in all, this has been a really, realy fun present.
Thank you, Muffin!!!!! *hugs tight*
