I love Architeuthis! It's got music on it! I have gotten it to do it's thing in the car! I've got it hooked up here at the office and it's going like a champ!

It is stuck on shuffle, which I don't want. I need to get it some speakers of it's own for the office. The FM adapter and I need to work a few things out, so that I get better sound quality in the car. But overall - AWESOME!

Oh. OK. Not a good omen for the start of the week. Here is a quiz for anyone who reads this journal.

CK,

Regarding the Virginia agent, can the individual live in the area (DC or Maryland) but not in Virginia? Let me know and thanks.

Client

Anyone wanna guess the answer? Anyone? A brownie to the first five people who get it right!

And I would like to say that I have spent an inordinate amount of time hand-holding this client, and I am sure I explained the Virginia agent more than once...

Watched Pulp Fiction this weekend. Much to the shock of Husband. Apparently, I said some rash words about never watching Pulp Fiction. Though I am sure I never *thought* I would never watch Pulp Fiction. That honor is reserved for Reservoir Dogs. Thrill ride. As anticipated. And I flinched and skipped out on the scenes in the gunshop.

Also, watched Underworld this weekend. Pretty. Lame. As anticipated. Comment on the cinematography - I had a hard time telling when our heroine was animated and when she was not. And I think it was a deliberate trick of the cinamatographer to make her LOOK animated sometimes in the live action shots. Interesting. Still, shame if they were going to invest that much effort into the prettiness of the film, they couldn't have gotten a better script. Also, some stinky acting in key roles.

And, contrary to my usual form, I have nothing further to say about these two movies. Don't know if I'm off my game, or if these movies just have nothing to say at all. Leaning toward the nothing to say. Which in QT's case, probably a good idea. Kill Bill Vol 2 would have benefitted from nothing to say.

Love Helicopter Girl. Put Voodoo Chick on Architeuthis last night. So excellent! Highly recommend.

Oh! And watched Mitchell again this weekend. MST3K version of course. *sigh* I love them so much. Sci Fi Channel is full of idiots. Speaking of which, Earthsea coming out this fall! Could be interesting. Though sent Husband into tirade about the hypocrisy of Le Guin. But I don't know the ins and outs of that stuff. Inspires me to re-read...

Well. That was just... yum!

Tomatoes and lettuce with salt, pepper, parmesean cheese
Creamed corn
Hamburger, cooked on the stove (couldn't start the charcoal, dammit)
Toasted English Muffin bread, buttered

*happy sigh*

Frank's Creamed Corn
2 cobs white corn
1 T butter
salt and pepper to taste
some milk (skim worked great)

Shuck corn. Clean. Cut tops off kernals into pan. With a table knife, scrape the pulp from the kernals into the pan. Cover whole kernals and pulp with water. Salt and pepper thoroughly. Add butter. Boil liquids away. When very thick, add some milk. Cook down on low simmer until very thick.
