Aug. 16th, 2004 10:01 amWatched Pulp Fiction this weekend. Much to the shock of Husband. Apparently, I said some rash words about never watching Pulp Fiction. Though I am sure I never *thought* I would never watch Pulp Fiction. That honor is reserved for Reservoir Dogs. Thrill ride. As anticipated. And I flinched and skipped out on the scenes in the gunshop.
Also, watched Underworld this weekend. Pretty. Lame. As anticipated. Comment on the cinematography - I had a hard time telling when our heroine was animated and when she was not. And I think it was a deliberate trick of the cinamatographer to make her LOOK animated sometimes in the live action shots. Interesting. Still, shame if they were going to invest that much effort into the prettiness of the film, they couldn't have gotten a better script. Also, some stinky acting in key roles.
And, contrary to my usual form, I have nothing further to say about these two movies. Don't know if I'm off my game, or if these movies just have nothing to say at all. Leaning toward the nothing to say. Which in QT's case, probably a good idea. Kill Bill Vol 2 would have benefitted from nothing to say.
Love Helicopter Girl. Put Voodoo Chick on Architeuthis last night. So excellent! Highly recommend.
Oh! And watched Mitchell again this weekend. MST3K version of course. *sigh* I love them so much. Sci Fi Channel is full of idiots. Speaking of which, Earthsea coming out this fall! Could be interesting. Though sent Husband into tirade about the hypocrisy of Le Guin. But I don't know the ins and outs of that stuff. Inspires me to re-read...
