The Small Boy goes back to school
Sep. 8th, 2004 07:33 amSmall Boy had an excellent first day of school.
We failed to go to the open house Friday, so he had not been to his classroom, though he already knew his teacher by sight and he knew that she was in Learning Center 2. So we agreed that he would go to Learning Center 2 and look for the classroom. Small Boy can't quite read yet, but his teacher's name starts with Y. I explained to him that hardly any names start with Y, so if he went to Learning Center 2 and looked for the classroom of Mrs. Y, he would probably be in the right place. Well, that's exactly what he did and he found his classroom no problem! :)
Last night, I efficiently did his school paperwork, so that's all ready. Also, after work yesterday, Small Boy helped me do the grocery shopping, so we got his remaining school supplies, which he can carry in today.
Yesterday, I also carried his pencils to work with me and sharpened 24 of them, per his teacher's instructions. Cellmate was highly amused. They are packed in his bag, along with the remaining 3 dozen I bought by mistake. *snortle* A dozen went to school already, but not all sharpened. Ah, the excitement and adventure of motherhood! *snert*
Smooth start to the school year.
