Recent Media Consumption - No Spoilers

muck_a_luckIf you get BBC America, check out The Kumars at No. 42. MUCH funnier than expected. Caught the one last night with Robson Green and Lulu. V. funny, and I barely know who Lulu is, much less Robson Green.
Whatched The Kumars in between watching parts of Taxi Driver. We'd been watching for about 20 minutes when I asked The Husband, "This is Taxi Driver, right?" He laughed and said it was. Then somehow we got around to whether I liked it or not. I said since it was such an imporant movie, I'd hold off longer before I decided not to like it. He commisserated, saying he could never figure out what was supposed to be so great about Raging Bull. I had to come down on the side of not liking it, though, as we were watching The Kumars during large segments of it, can't be sure. It is clearly a very well made movie, but ugh. Did not like it. And personally, I don't see any point in watching a movie you don't like, no matter what great film-making it might be. For me, TV and movies are about escapism, not art. Kinda like a dessert you don't like. What's the point?
Anyway, on to Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle. Bad acting. OK stunts. Apparently pretty dumb script. After 20 minutes of folding laundry to this movie, I got up and came to write in my journal. *shrugs*
Re-runs. Rewatched a large part of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets around Small Boy's dinner and bath/haircut. So much better than Charlie's Angels...
Also, the "Nightline" episode from "Coupling." They had a few clunker episodes this last season, but they were completely and utterly on in this one. If you have BBC America and haven't seen Coupling yet, rush to you TV guide right now and plan to watch it as soon as it's on next. OMG! When Patrick said, "She was a full-on prego!" I nearly had a baby right there. And Olivier's phone conversation with his girlfriend and the Dalek. *snortle*

So, I am off to finish my virtuous day of floor scrubbing, home cooking, and laundry folding with some housewifely dish washing.
