Boss: Well, I need 29 more cents.
Me: [gets out "little black book" (which actually has a horse/dog/hunting scene type thing on it]
Boss: Let me pay you for a stamp.
Me: No, don't pay me for a stamp! I'm sure I've used the meter for at least one personal letter.
Boss: [uses one of my bouquet-of-flowers stamps next to his MLK stamp]
Me: Ha! But now you have to use girly stamps!
Boss: That's OK. I'll just put it upside down.
Me: You know what it means when you put it upside down! [Boss looks confused/quizzical] It means love! It means you are flirting with that person!
Boss: [with sly little grin] Unless it's a flag stamp. Then it means distress!
Me: [helpless, nerdy laughter]
We will put my amusement over this down with my conversation with The Husband over the amature afficianados of lore. I'm a geek. So shoot me.
