X-Files locations

No mountains in Michigan, guys!
And I don't think there is temperate rainforest in Kazakhstan!
However, living in the DC area, we are amused at how they handle the local stories. They actually do an excellent job of getting things more or less right. Fairfax, Arlington, Crystal City, Loudoun County, Falls Church...
But some glaring problems - the bridges they have crossing the "Potomac." They are to laugh! And last night, in "Kill Switch," they were at "a derelict chicken farm" "down in Fairfax County." Gotta tell you, folks, a piece of property that big in Fairfax County would be converted to $350k row houses so fast it would make your head spin! Fairfax County defines urban sprawl. The infamous Washington Beltway runs right through the heart of it. Worst traffic in the United States. Yes, worse than Atlanta. So, ahem, let's stop talking about abandoned chicken farms down in Fairfax County. LOL!
Back to what they get right, the use real place names and road names, but they don't use real places. The grocery store in Loudoun County was fake. The Fairfax hospital was fake, as were all the locations. I suppose they don't want to use a real business' name or cause problems for a real hospital by getting things too right.
