New favorite movie

The Barbarian's new favorite movie is Van Helsing.

I think she would love Hansel 7 Gretel Witch Hunters, but the gore factor is higher, so I'm not ready to show it to her.

Really ? I thought Van Helsing is more gory than H&G.. but then it's been many years since I saw VH, I remembered being sad that the girl died, while I mostly laughing when I saw H&G.. twice! since Renner is so cute ;-P

H&G was very funny and while it did have lots of violence and a fair amount of gore, it had almost no suspense, so I think The Barbarian could have easily watched it without it being too scary. Though I might have censored that scene where the sheriff and his men were beating up Gretel as too RL, not fantasy enough. To be totally, 100% fair, I didn't watch most of Van Helsing - she watched more than half of that with her Dad only while I was doing something else. But the part I saw, while no less violent, had less blood and guts. Anyway, she thought it was hilarious. :D

Renner is a doll baby in it, for sure.

Has The Barbarian watched the Scorpion King? It's one of my favorite movies and is deeply, deeply silly.
