I think possibly The Barbarian has a crush on Thor. Yesterday, when I told her that The Avengers might be scary, and we needed to see it before she did to find out, she said, "But it has Thor in it!"

Husband and I think the appeal of Thor to very small girls is probably that he's the least scary comic book hero ever. Friendly, comically out of place, noble. No twisted dark side anywhere in sight. Just a fun, handsome guy, who beats up the bad people. :)

What kid doesn't love a golden lab? :D

He's definitely designed for a simpler world view: bad guys or good guys. (Well, okay, Loki is brother [good] who does bad things [stop those things].) Plus he loves to talk loud, eat big, love big, play/fight big. What could be more fun?
