Day off today to see the Avengers.
Was hoping to get in both kickboxing and yoga. Instead, had a knock down, drag out with the computer. It was a draw. Nobody won, but my computer still works.
I regrouped around 7:45 and untwisted my panties. They were pretty darned twisted, I can tell you. The Barbarian and I did the grocery errand before I took her to school. Then after I dropped her off, I went and got the pool passes from the Association, traded a propane tank (and remembered to get the rewards card from the gas station chain where I usually buy gas now - and incidentally get propane), and did banking for Boss. Stage two of the Me Day was boring, but efficient and productive.
Part Three - I put in Ironman and watched it straight and unriffed while doing our household filing. After today and the afternoon on Mother's Day weekend, I have pretty much knocked it all out. I can tell you, Tony Stark is a great distraction for tedious clerical tasks.
Then, zoomed out to catch Avengers. I put it on about the same level as Ironman, Thor, and Captain America - sorry, Joss. But it was fun, and full of pretty, and some good character stuff and LOTS of fun CGI eye candy. Alas, I have been spoiled by fan fic. "The novel is always better than the movie" is true of the best fan fic, too.
I had the best seat in the house. Three whole people were there, btw. They just re-did this theater with leather captain's chairs, and I sat behind the designated space for people in wheel chairs, so I could prop my feet. Niiiice. The other two people, a couple, sat in the other space-behind-the-wheelchair-seats.
Prometheus (or however you spell it) looks like another special effects fest. And Brave looks like it could be good fun.

Date: 2012-06-01 02:59 am (UTC)BUT! AVENGERS! Yay!!! I like that Joss didn't rule out most of the fanfic I read with canon. Except for that pesky thing that needs to be fixed, but is SO fixable. That's the best I expect from mass market media.
I like to prop my feet up on the railing bars, too. Heh!
Brave looks awesome! I think Barbarian will love it, and it will be a fabulously good and bad influence. :D Prometheus looks GORGEOUS, plus Idris Elba and Michael Faasbender, HRNNNGH! I'm just ... not a big fan of horror. I'll have to decide whether I'm seeing it or not when it comes out.
