PSA - Spam

Just for anybody who might be unaware, don't reply to spam messages. I got all mad one day and replied to one of the scam messages with a tirade about fraud and blah blah. The result is that I have recevied many, many spams of various types from that same address ever since. It's just a blip on my spam radar, as it all goes to one or the other of my spam filters, but it was a material lesson to me and just in case the thought never occurred to you either, well, that is apparently one of the very good reasons not to respond to these idiots.

Yeah, I got one at work last week that said, "We'll be sending you a bunch of updates in the coming weeks. If you don't want to get them, unsubscribe by clicking here." I'm so glad I knew it was a BAD IDEA. Spammers are always trying to find out legitimate addresses—addresses with real people responding to them, even if negatively. I only ever hit Unsubscribe from real places doing legitimate business, like Lands End, and then only if I've hovered over the link to make sure it actually leads back to Lands End.
