So. Several days cooped up in the house, worrying about whether I can get out to work, trying to drive on the poorly cleared roads (when I could go out), worrying about whether the heat pump was having problems. Well. Although seeing that much snow come down was exciting and sort of an adventure, I think the stress and possibly the dimness of the whole experience was hideously bad for the SAD. I have been playing pointless games on Neopets, not interested in reading or writing or anything much at all except being a zombie. Then today, the sun is out and the sky is blue and we have the big windows open in the living room, with the sun streaming in. The room is warm, and I rolled out the yoga mat and did about an hour of yoga while The Barbarian played with her design-a-monster-puppet and Husband read about the Permian extinction on various websites and entertained The Barbarian when she got bored. It was like recharging my emotional batteries. My mood is through the roof. I'm relaxed and happy and optimistic again.

Stupid SAD.

We checked out the new pizza place across the lake. Very good. The days of a one hour round trip for pizza may be over! Plus, they deliver, if we're too lazy to drive the 3 minutes there and the 3 minutes back.

In yoga news, my recent regular, and hip-opening-focused practice has had a serious impact on some of the intermediate postures on Shakti. I could sort of simulate all the postures in the Standing Flow I. Whoo hoo. Though actually I intended to do Standing Flow II, which is all about Crow Pose, but that can be for tomorrow.
