Yoga blah blah
Dec. 9th, 2009 02:24 pmSo, after about 5 weeks of mostly writing in my spare time instead of exercising - I was down to about two yoga sessions a week - I'm now going to try to log some exercise every day through New Years. It's SAD time, and I'm going to try to rev up those endorphins. Supposedly as effective as prozac. So.
I was pleased that when I did Mr. Yee's workout yesterday, I didn't have too many bad effects this morning. I was all set to do aerobics instead of yoga if I was too sore, but instead did my new McGee workout. Feeling it now, for sure.
I think tomorrow will either be Lunar Flow, because it is gentle and I like the hip opening set, or Trance Dance. Depends on how I feel in the morning.
In yoga progress, I am really seeing the difference in Cobbler's Pose and Wide Angle Forward Bend. I used to sort of lean forward slightly in these poses. These days, I'm about 3/4 of the way to laying my forehead on the ground. Not as flat out as the instructors yet, but it is definitely lookign like I will achieve that level of flexibility one day.
It's only been 5 years of practice. Hush.
:D
Actually, I attribute all my gains in flexibility to the regular practice I began back during Lent. Considering that my hamstrings have really opened up, too, it really speaks to what regular practice can do for your body. Since mid-February, I have done yoga at least twice a week - with the big layoff for the hernia. And often more.
