OK, due diligence performed
Jan. 5th, 2009 11:35 amBack from my trip to the office. On the one hand, it's a nightmare there. Evaporation fan/heaters everywhere, placed against the walls to suck moisture out of there, and where there are no fans or catch buckets, there are huge industrial power cords. I literally had to walk on a carpet of them to get to my work space. And my workspace is shoved together in such a way that there really wasn't any practical way to get into the center or it where my computer is. I had hoped ot just grab my CPU and scram, but it was in such a nest of furniture and other stuff that I was worried that trying to extract it would just cause a giant collapse of my stuff, and probably cause a chain reaction with Cellmate's.
So.
Finish that Venn diagram, and I might be a free woman through Wednesday.
Jeez, I hope the group is properly insured for this, though. There was equipment in other areas of our floor AND downstairs from us. It is going to be one huge bill for the cleanup.
Oh. But that said, from my perspective, it was much better than expected. I thought I would be going in to deal with sodden carpets and soaked equipment. But they are doing some amazing stuff. The carpet seems perfectly dry (and fine now! tough carpet!), and even the boxes under my desk are dehumidified already. By Thursday morning, it's going to be OK in there. Cleanup for me will probbaly be some tidying and praying my computer was not badly damanged.
Plans for the rest of the day. Finish the Venn diagram. House stuff around here. Make some banana bread. Write a little.
Plans for tomorrow - MASSIVE workout - aerobics, long yoga, and weights. HUGE nap. House stuff.
Plans for Wednesday - whatever workout my poor abused body can handle. House stuff.
