The Refittin' o' The Crown Vic
Sep. 19th, 2008 09:38 amIn honor of Talk Like A Pirate Day, a copy over from the spam thread...
Well, as I mentioned to ye yestermorn, I were plannin' to clean the bilge in The Crown Vic. It was a monstrous and disgusting task, and the crew were too sick to even swab the decks, much less run the pumps. But the Captian must maintain her ship, and today The Crown Vic is ship shape and Bristol fashion, if I do say so meself! I laded great bags o' crackers and cookies, shoveled out old papers and broken TKD boards, and when I removed the back seat, swept away huge quantities of pulverized dust and crumbs and lollypops from the Treasury o' Spain, I did! Alas for the colonies o' little tiny cute black beetles as live in the hold, as they and all their larvae have been ousted, as is the fate of all stowaways.
One of the reasons the car *really* needed to be cleaned, aside from the obvious vomit issue (AG33 threw up all over his side of the back seat yesterday), was because the tiny cute black beetles had quite a population explosion recently. One or two black beetles - very cute. Swarms of them all around the car (and by swarms, I mean oh, 15 visible from the Captain's chair) is kinda unnerving. I didn't actually see any yesterday, but I DID find the tiniest little worm thing that sure as heck looked like an insect larve. I probably destroyed a whole ecosystem by cleaning the car.
They really were cute, though. Probably 10 could sit on your pinky finger nail, and they had barely distinguishable red markings. Poor little things. :(
Also, if we get trapped in a snow bank in the next little bit, I'll be kicking myself. Seriously, there were enough old stale crackers and cookies for the kids to subsist on for a day or two, probably. I think ages ago the Barbarian went through a dumping phase, and was just throwing all her car snacks into the floorboard under her feet. Plus, there was enough paper trash in there to kindle several excellent campfires.
