Yay!

Aw!

Ack!!!!!

Huh.

Told you so!

Well, there's a turn of events I would not have predicted. Daniel with a prosthetic leg. In Ten Years Gone, he's off field teams for a less damaging injury.

But I see, in true Stargate fashion, they did that and it will now apparently have nearly zero consequences. He was already walking around without a cane - admittedly one plot-year later, but still.

I wish TV would stop doing that. Choosing huge plot developments then having them lead nowhere. There was really no reason for Daniel to lose his foot, except the shock value. He could have broken his ankle. That would have sidelined him long enough to be left behind without having the foot amputated later. NOW, he's lost a limb, which really SHOULD be the final straw that makes him a desk-bound consultant, and I bet you dollars to doughnuts that should they continue with these movies, it will barely be acknowledged.

Of course, in the timeline that started the movie, Jack is now dead. I suppose one out would be that the "fixed" timeline, which I assume will somehow revive dead!Jack, will also include a footed Daniel.

Which of course raises the question of *yet another* timeline SG-1 roaming around staying out of the way of the "fixed" timeline, but I'm borrowing trouble.

Not that I'm complaining, or anything. I deliberately avoided spoilers for this thing. I was worried because some parties had been referring to it as Continudumb, and I had concerns that they knew something I didn't. But it's been SO FUN thus far. The Ori sucked as enemies. It's nice to be back in an SG-1 land where the goa'uld are the goa'uld and that stupid two-years of Ori story can just be ignored like it never happened. Whoo hoo!!!!

Though it would also be fun to go back to the good old days of SG-1. It's been years in Stargate, hasn't it, since we were just in it for the exploration and adventure. I mean, it was never JUST about that. It started with Apophis kidapping hosts, and the first couple of years were driven by the Daniel/Sha'uri subplot, but the first couple of years were also about meeting aliens, experiencing other cultures. Think of how many episodes were just about that. I mean, SG-1=constant peril now matter how you slice it, but it was creative and fun. SGA and post-Season 8 SG-1 are so war-driven. Maybe that's why I find them so samey and a little depressing.

UPDATE: I'm not done yet don't spoil!!!!!

It had me screaming at the tv and cheering on and really, it was so much fun!!! I wish they'd make these movies quicker. Will there be another one???
