They're so good when they're cooked

So. I was sitting at the computer, and the Rice Barbarian was in the kitchen, rummaging around in one of her cabinets. She comes back around the corner. First thing is see is the kind of scrunched up look on her face. Like she ate something bad. Not so much a "yuck" look, as a sort of confused look. With some yuck component.

Then I saw she was holding something. The computer area is kinda dark and she was backlit by the full light of the kitchen windows, so I couldn't really see that well. I said, "What's that?" Then she threw it down in apparent disgust.

It was a potato. With some slobber on it. And a couple of toddler tooth nibbles.

She looked so disgusted! Then she stuck out her tongue and sorta wiped it off.

ROTFLMAO! She got a big hug and a reminder that they taste better cooked.

hee. my favorite thing about this incident is how she came and showed you! i love that.

(okay; can't resist; I'll see you one cute toddler story and raise you one. My older boy, when he was three, stalked cheerfully up to me one day and announced: "My arm does not come off. It is attached." Then he got this, "That is all" look on his face and stalked off. I about fell over.)

This is why you're the mommy and I ought not have children. I'd have told the Barbarian that food tastes different every time you eat it, and she had just been lucky in the past.

The Rice Barbarian must show! When she's being bad and you yell at her, she also has a tendency to run over and hug your legs. :D

I don't have kids but I occasionally watch a friend's toddlers and the little boy did something similar with a dog biscuit he found in the cupboard. lol our boxers couldn't figure out WHY he didn't like their cookies. hehehe
